Our Mission

Cards For A Cause is a non-profit organization that originated in Calgary, co-founded by Dolly Liu and Jasmine Lei. These two high school students saw an opportunity to spread positivity during a stressful time and acted upon their inspiration to create this initiative. 

Cards For A Cause connects people from all across the city through an artistic and friendly approach. We aspire to diminish rates of loneliness, depression, and anxiety through an uplifting card-giving process. 

Our organization focuses on providing heartfelt and “old-school” interaction, deviating from texting and technological communication. Writing cards can be an outlet for creativity as we are not bound to formal templates or words. Participants can personally decorate, draw, and write messages to somebody in need of a little happiness. 

We strive to inspire others in the community to act out of kindness—to spread encouragement outside of Cards For A Cause. We hope that our organization can serve as a reminder that we are all connected through love and humanity and that everyone should take time out of their day to better someone else’s.
